Udaipur
The city Udaipur is located on the Banas River in the southwest part of Nagda and the capital of Mewar sovereignty which was ruled by the king Maharana Udai Singh in 1559. One day when Udai Sing was coming back from hunting he met a holy man on his way. The solitary person blessed him that if he builds a fort on that place, it would protect him in the near future. Maharana Udai Sing followed his word and established a beautiful residency on that spot. In 1568 battle, the Mughal sovereign Akbar took the fort Chittor under his custody, and to give safeguard to himself, Udai Singh moved his capital to the residency that he made according to the order of the holy man.

Pichola Lake

City Palace
The architectures have given a wonderful appearance to the main tourist attraction place City Palace of Udaipur which is artistically located in the bank of the Pichola Lake. Maharana Udai Sing constructed the beautiful palace which has become the mostly visited tourist attraction place of Udaipur. The palace is comprised of wonderful pavilions, hanging gardens, courtyards etc and all the parts of the palace is constructed with eye-catching granite and marbles. When you enter inside the City Palace you will find several gates which are known as “Pols”. Every gate and places of City Palace memorises you what the royal family did and found enjoyment at their time. The paintings, ornaments and the antique furniture of the palace will surprised you a lot. In the walls of the City Palace you can get some real life stories of Radha- Krishna which are beautifully depicted by the artists. Here you can also experience the view of the great Sheesh Mahal, which is exceptionally constructed with striking mirrors.
Haldighati
Situated 40 Kms north of Udaipur, Haldighati, is where Maharana Pratap defied the superior Mughal forces of Akbar in 1576. The site is marked by a small chhatri which commemorates the warrior’s horse, Chetak. Although badly wounded and exhausted, this brave horse carried Maharana Pratap to safety before collapsing and dying. It is for this loyalty and courage that Chetak is honored.

Kumbhalgarh Fort
Kumbhalgarh, situated 65 km north of Udaipur hold a heroic past having sheltered the heir of Mewar throne in times of Danger. It was here that the baby prince of Mewar was hidden from an assassin. It is an isolated and fascinating place, built by Maharana Khumbha in the 15th century. Because of its inaccessibility – at1100m on top of the Aravalli Range – it was taken only once in history. Even then, it took the combined armies of the Mughal emperor Akbar, and of Amber and Marwar to breach its defenses. The thick walls of this mighty fort stretch some 36km and are wide enough for eight horses to ride abreast. They enclose many temples, palaces, gardens and water storage facilities. The fort was renovated in the 19th century by Maharana Fateh Singh. It is worth taking a leisurely walk in the large compound, which has some interesting ruins and is very peaceful.
Gulab Bagh (Rose Garden)
If you fond of Rose, then you must visit to Sajjan Niwas Garden of Udaipur which is the largest garden of Rajasthan, covering 100 acres of land. This garden is also known as “Rose Garden” because such a huge variety of roses you can never found anywhere in India in a single place. The beautiful flowers relaxes your disturb mind and provide the real peace of nature. If you really love the natural beauty, you must have to visit at least once to the Rose Garden, which will become the best way to explore nature’s spender. Till now the garden is holding its natural beauty as it was earlier; tourist from all round the corner comes to visit this spectacular park of the ancient time. Inside the garden there is a small zoo placed where a number of animals are brought like leopards, tiger, chinkara and a variety of birds.
Bagore Ki Haveli & Museum
Approach to the Bagore Haveli, if you really like Rajasthani dance and music. The haveli is situated on the bank of Pichola Lake at Gangori Ghat which has 138 room and terraces, corridors, courtyards etc. You can watch the beautiful Rajasthani dance at Bagore Haveli between 7 PM to 8 PM every day, this Rajasthani dance will definitely compel you to dance with them.

Shopping in Udaipur
Udaipur has countless shops and many interesting local crafts. Udaipur is famous for producing furniture covered with silver and inlaid with mother of pearl and bone. Traditional Rajput-Mughal-style miniature paintings in a variety of mediums, such as bone, paper, silk, marble, and wood are other major attractions. A plethora of items like folk toys, colourful tie-dye sarees and clothes, turbans, hand painted fabrics, silver Jewellery, wall hangings and miniature paintings in Rajput Style are the favourite buys. The beautiful images of Gods and Goddesses made in the nearby Molalla village near Nathdwara are not to be missed.
