Jaipur
Jaipur the “pink city” of Rajasthan is located in the northern part India. This is the largest city of India, having a population of 3.1 million. The city is a summary of great ancient history where natural beauty takes breath and was created in 18 November 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. The place is seated 260 km apart from the capital, Delhi. Presently, Jaipur has become the foremost business hub of all requisites for metropolitan city. The city is comprised of endless number of historical monuments, forts and some wonderful observatory like Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal and many more. The residency of the ruler of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, Nahargarh Fort is placed in the northwest corner of the city which is one of the popular destinations of tourist. Temperature remains high in summer from April to July around 30 °C but in the winter it comes down to approx. 15 °C -18 °C.
TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN JAIPUR
Amber Fort
The fort is located 11 km apart from the pink city, jaipur. The famous hall of mirrors, Sheesh Mahal and most beautiful Jai Mandir are another two tourist attaractions of the complex. The interior walls of Amber Fort are beautifully depicted with expressive paintings and precious stones which gives a remembrance of ancient sculptors.
City Palace
City palace is located in the heart of the city Jaipur. The history of the palace is closely related to the ruler of the city Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. City palace includes two other palaces also Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal which makes a beautiful palace complex in Jaipur. The place is a perfect blend of Rajput, Mughal and European style of architecture.
Jantar Mantar
Jantar Mantar, the great observatory of Jaipur is placed near the city palace. The word “Jantar Mantar” means instrument, which was created during the reign of Maharaja Jai Singh II to measure the time on that period. Being a great architect and mathematician he built five other Jantar Mantar in the cities of Delhi, Mathura, Varanasi, Jaipuir and Ujjain.
Hawa Mahal
One of the best roadside views of Jaipur city is Hawa Mahal which is placed in the City Palace complex. This is also called the “Place of Wind” and was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Now, the palace has been transformed into a museum where one can see the difference between past and present Jaipur.
